Lisette Lee, a 28-year-old supposed "socialite" from Van Nuys, California (land of the socialites) has been arrested upon Suspicion of transporting 506 pounds of marijuana by jet.
Port Columbus, Ohio, police claim that Ms. Lee landed at the Ohio airport in a private jet--where she began unloading 13 suitcases that she allegedly claimed contained "equipment" belonging to her boyfriend.
Good thing she made a point not to look suspicious--whipping 13 suitcases, personally, off of a private chartered jet.
Apparently Ms. Lee, say police, was unable to provide a last name of that supposed boyfriend with the "equipment"--resulting in the FBI becoming a bit wary of what was occurring.
Seems Lee hasn't been slow in providing info to police, in a case that could land her five to 40 years in prison--not jail, prison.
Police say Lee has indicated this this jet arrival, complete with bust, was her third trip to Columbus--that each time she flew to Columbus, she was given between 12 to14 suitcases for delivery to an unnamed hotel room.
For each of her jet trips, it's alleged that Lee told police she was paid $60,000.
Is the 180 grand how she became a so-called "socialite"?
Not much room for debate as to whether Lee's going to be claiming that she didn't know what was in those suitcases.
Of course that argument might have worked slightly better for her, had she been smart enough to ensure that nothing was in her personal belongings. Police officers say a search of her personal bag included an array: including cocaine, (more) marijuana, drug paraphernalia--and drug ledgers. Lee, police say, has admitted those particular drugs were hers.
