A painting contractor's caused a 'TON' of trouble in the city of Stoughton--forgetting about a crucial six-foot tall 'T' on the city's water tower that extends over 17 stories high.
While the Stoughton Utilities website boasts of its newly-finished water tower, the painter's made its introduction unforgettable:
Mike Sandmire of painting company Neumann Co., in Romeoville, Illinois, said he was working backwards while painting "STOUGHTON" on one side of the city's water tower--and the result came out that way.
The painting contractor forgot the second "T" in the Stoughton city name, the result: "STOUGHON". Contractor Sandmire claims the water tower painting error with spelling was the first of its kind in his 20 years of job experience--not difficult to fix; the "ON" on the city's water tower will be painted over--once dried, replaced with "TON."
View the tower from the other side, and all is well--the other side of city's190-foot-tall tower reads "STOUGHTON". The contracting painter in charge of labeling the new water tower in Stoughton, Wisconsin, says his 6-foot-tall spelling error is being fixed immediately.
