Police in Boise, Idaho, believe they’ve busted a year-long condiment crime spree wide open. A 74-year-old Boise woman has been arrested by police—caught after pouring mayonnaise in the Ada County library's book drop box. Police say the woman is a person of interest in at least 10 other condiment-related crimes in the area. Joy L. Cassidy was picked up Sunday at the Ada County library—right after police say she pulled through the outside drive-through, dumping a jar of mayo in the box designated for reading materials. That’s a pretty serious hatred for books. Cassidy was released from the Boise jail following the condiment-relatedarrest—to later stand misdemeanor charge of malicious injury to property. Police say Cassidy under investigation for a vandalism spree beginning a year ago—May 2009, when library employees reported finding returned books in the drop box that had been covered in corn syrup and ketchup. The mug shot may explain it all.
