AFA Deems 10 Year Old Gay Pride Marshal as Child Abuse

The 10-year-old who refused to recite the Pledge of Allegiance until there truly is “liberty and justice for all”--specifically gay people not allowed to marry--will serve as the youngest grand marshal at the NWA Gay Pride Parade—the American Family Association cult claims the boy’s participation equals child abuse.

The 10-year-old boy from West Fork, Arkansas—Will Phillips--made national headlines in November of 2009--after refusing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance until there truly is “liberty and justice for all.” Phillips referred specifically to gay people and couples who are not legally allowed to marry.

The North West Arkansas (NWA) Gay Pride Parade event has formally announced that the 10-year-old activist is slated to be honored for his activist efforts--serving as the NWA parade’s youngest ever grand marshal at their annual pride parade this weekend. The boy received a unanimous vote from parade organizers, as event Grand Marshal.

The cult that calls itself the “American Family Association” is calling Phillips’ parade participation “child abuse”—trying to circulate the message of hatred via its own press release—making the organization extremely unpopular (not that the group was so popular to begin with, spreading messages on par with the KKK and attracting members of similar caliber).

AFA calls itself a non-profit: to others, it’s simply a cult—with complete lack of intelligence.

The AFA cult is issued a press release that no media bothers giving “press”:

“It’s shameful that adults would abuse a brain-washed child [Will Phillips] in this way,” AFA president Tim Wildmon submitted via press release statement. “He’s [Phillips] obviously just parroting the nonsense he’s been told by manipulative adults. For gay activists to trot out this child and make him the poster child for promoting unnatural sexual expression is a form of child abuse.”
Wildmon then uses the Food and Drug Administration's ban on gay blood donors as justification for discouraging acceptance of gays and unacceptance. “There is nothing about homosexual conduct to be proud of, and much to be ashamed of,” AFA’s Wildmon claims.

There appears to be lots of other things to be ashamed of—the cult affiliates itself with the Christian faith, while those believers would do well to run the other way, as quickly as possible.

Previous statements from the American Family Association cult include the likes of this March 2010 issuance:

“So Hitler himself was an active homosexual. And some people wonder, didn’t the Germans, didn’t the Nazis, persecute homosexuals? And it is true they did; they persecuted effeminate homosexuals. But Hitler recruited around him homosexuals to make up his Stormtroopers, they were his enforcers, they were his thugs. And Hitler discovered that he could not get straight soldiers to be savage and brutal and vicious enough to carry out his orders, but that homosexual solders basically had no limits and the savagery and brutality they were willing to inflict on whomever Hitler sent them after. So he surrounded himself, virtually all of the Stormtroopers, the Brownshirts, were male homosexuals.”

Who knew homosexual men were so vicious—that no one could be as manly and supposedly brutal. The military had nothing to worry about all along.

Yeah, the AFA cult is a real bevy of geniuses.

Fayetteville City Mayor, Jordan, has said the Northwest Arkansas Gay Pride Parade will proceed as planned—regardless of the more than 300 e-mails received in one afternoon by opponents of the event. Most of the email communication was sent from people outside town, spurned into action by displays and spread of hatred and intolerance pushed by the American Family Association (AFA).

The AFA issued its own press release—since apparently no one else would listen—on Wednesday. The release, which was not picked up by the media, criticizes the city mayor for hosting 10-year-old Phillips as parade Grand Marshal—the boy having risen to prominence late last year when he refused to recite the Pledge of Allegiance until LGBT people have full equality.

Apparently those exhibiting a desire to spread hate also exhibit a lack of creativity—or, simply, complete lack of intelligence: “Most of the [email] messages included identical body copy which came pre-loaded in an online action form set up by the American Family Association,” reported the city’s local media. “Nearly all of them [emails received] began with the statement, ‘I am shocked to learn that the city of Fayetteville is issuing a proclamation in support of the homosexual activist group, Northwest Arkansas Pride.’”

Way to go, brainiacs.

Meanwhile the NWA organization has issued statement that “Will Phillips may be just over the age of 10 years old, but has done more in the support of the GLBT [Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender] Community than many people 4 times his age,” reads the announcement from NWA Pride.
