Twinkies are potentially deadly stuff--especially if you're trying to rip off a few snack cakes from a convenience store. A guy's been shot while trying to steal Twinkies. The store clerk didn't really mean to shoot the Twinkies thief. His gun accidentally discharged. But, whatever the reason, apparently that gunshot was effective.
Joseph Williams was allegedly in the process of stealing Twinkies from 'Happy Jack Grocery & Market' in Jacksonville, Florida, when the clerk flashed a a handgun. It seems Twinkies are serious biz in Northwest Florida -- and those who sell them have got a serious message for thieves. The visual of a handgun may have been enough to dissuade the snack cakes robbery, but an irritated clerk caught up with the 18-year-old Williams outside of the Happy Jack store -- where a struggle led to bloodshed.
Reportedly the Happy Jack store clerk told the alleged thief to stop resisting but insists Joseph Williams looked at the gun as if he was going to try and grab it. So, the clerk whacked him one -- cracking him in the head with the weapon. The impact apparently made the gun accidentally fire.
Proving once again that thieves are not so smart, K-9 units weren't able to locate Williams despite a blood trail. But someone decided to check into a local hospital, seeking medical treatment for a gunshot wound to an arm.
