Screw robots -- it turns out inanimate objects can call for help. A Massachusetts house dials 911 while nearly drowning. It truly was an emergency for the Marblehead home, discovered by emergency services to be overrun by toxic mold.

What is estimated as months of a leaking water pipe finally led to collapse, buckling the floors and sagging the ceiling of an empty Massachusetts home -- a house which ended up dialing 911 emergency services on its own.

According to The Salem News, a 911 call went out from the Marblehead, Massachusetts, after the leaking water apparently short-circuited the phone system -- in turn sparking initiation of an emergency call. Police responded on-site after the emergency call first came through as a hang-up, and after 911 received only static on the line when attempting to return the call.

As it turns out, the Marblehead house is in dire need of emergency services. The inside may require complete gutting, after suspected toxic mold growth from a water pipe -- a line guessed to have burst during winter months.
