Cops Take Down Drunk Clown Seen Driving NY City Streets in Golf Cart

People think it sucks to have a DUI or DWI--but it must suck even worse to be mistaken for a clown while dressed in (what you believe to be) golf attire. New York cops were first sure a guy from Massachusetts, in what's proven the worst fashion faux pas in golf attire, was posing as a clown when cops busted him for allegedly drinking and then driving a stolen golf cart.

Maybe the golfer should've chosen those more boring neutral tones often preferred by men -- or, perhaps, camo -- for his nighttime escapade. The 'clown' outfit got him busted. White and fluorescent colors do show up well at night. The Genesee County sheriff's department only got tipped off about the drunk driving after someone made a phone call about a clown, in a golf cart, driving New York city streets on a Sunday. As it turned out, the 37-year-old guy from Massachusetts wasn't trying to act like, or dress like, a clown while cruising around Batavia. But he had the public fooled. And it seems the Terry Hills Golf Course was in fact missing its golf cart -- after what must have been a very wrong turn.

Deputies insist the golfer was drunk, but he refused to confirm by breathalyzer. The most frightening part involves what occurred before any golf course 'rounds' -- in the dressing room: When deputies cuffed the golfer he was wearing a bright red watch, light pink shirt, bright pink and magenta striped socks with white shoes -- and white pants with large pink, green, and yellow polka-dots down the pant legs, to complete the fashion ensemble.

While it certainly sucks to have a record riddled with a DWI, being mistaken for a clown never dies.
