Superheroes are making a big-time comeback in the movies, and apparently in real life too. The comic book hero strikes Michigan--a guy dressed in complete Batman attire found hanging out, on the side of a building.

Maybe he was storing up energy for night-time escapades in saving the city. Unfortunately for this "Batman", at least part of his ensemble equals what police claim to be concealed weapons. Found attached to the side of a building, attached to this super hero were allegedly a telescoping, steel, baton along with a spray can of chemical irritant.

The original superhero sighting, reported to police by the public, consisted of the comic book stand-in first being spotted on a rooftop at town center. He was eventually taken into police custody in the Petoskey, Michigan, town that totals roughly 6,000.

31-year-old Mark Wayne "Batman" Williams was said to have also been carting a pair of lead-lined gloves when police pulled the hanging "bat" back onto the roof, from the west side of the building where he was discovered.

Perhaps he was looking to squash a "bug", but police didn't take too kindly to the chemical spray: he's been charged with several counts of carrying concealed weapons, one count of carrying a gas-ejecting weapon -- plus a count of creating a disturbance. It seems the city of Petoskey is not too particularly fond of those who impersonate "the real thing".

Petoskey Public safety chief John Calabrese told the media the Michigan "superhero" brought into custody "really didn't offer us any explanation" as to the Batman-themed attire. Calabrese said: "Our officers did not interrogate him at any length." Apparently it's every day a guy is found suspended from the side of a building -- not an event worthy of asking too many questions. But, to the Michigan city's credit, the city says it's not the first occasion where Williams has been discovered -- in costume -- in the general public. "Batman" apparently had a previous fascination of sorts with "the Crow".

Next up: "Birdman".
