A $5 yard sale find in Ohio turns into ten grand—after an amateur boxer paid five bucks for a LeBron James jewelry pendant which she assumed was costume jewelry. Turns out, the jewelry’s no fake— the “real deal” No. 23 James basketball necklace sports 2 carats in diamonds.
Twenty-year-old Vaneisha Robinson bought the LeBron James necklace pendant—in the shape of a basketball jersey complete with the “King” nickname—that she wore to high school, before ever knowing its true value. A recent jewelry appraisal by the International Gemological Institute says it’s no costume jewelry--gemologist Jerry Ehrenwald has verified that the necklace pendant made of 14-karat white gold actually sports at least 2 carats in diamonds. No cubic zirconia here.
The front side of the pendant is designed with the No. 23 LeBron James jersey and reads "King" on the front and "James" on the back.
The young woman is an amateur boxer in LeBron James' hometown of Akron, Ohio—the jewelry pendant since listed by her on eBay.
