Lost our dear friend to postpartum depression

Feb 8th 2010 We lost our dear friend Kelly to postpartum depression. She was a vibrant OR nurse at UCLA Los Angeles. She was in excellent physical health with loving husband, family and friends. Her husband Raul just shared his story with the womens' CA Assembly Womens' Caucus and they voted to designate May womens' perinatal awarness month, something that had been in the works far before our friends tragedy. The aim is to remove the shame of PPD and work on screenings etc. She was not just a best friend but a sister to us, and to think this may have been prevented with information.
