I learned a lot from being a Girl Scout, how to start a fire, how to survive in the wilderness but most importantly, how to treat other human beings and leave the world I touch a better place.
As a former Girl Scout I find the idea that Taylor of Ventura, CA (as she identifies herself) would post a video and urge citizens to Boycott the the Girl Scouts of America for their welcome inclusion of transgender youth. Do these youth that identify as female not deserve to be part of an experience that is not only positive but also life changing.
She obviously has missed the entire point of the experience and her parents must be real pieces of work So much for the motto "Do A Good Turn Daily.".
Read the girl scout motto and promise and see what you think
The Girl Scout Promise can be made in English, Spanish, or in American Sign Language with the same meaning.
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
The Promise is often recited at Girl Scout troop meetings while holding up the three middle fingers of the right hand, which forms the Girl Scout sign. Girl Scout policy states that the word "God" may be interpreted depending on individual spiritual beliefs. When reciting the Girl Scout Promise, "God" may be substituted with the word dictated by those beliefs. The Girl Scout Motto is "Be Prepared."
I will do my best to be
Honest and Fair,
Friendly and Helpful,
Considerate and Caring,
Courageous and Strong, and
Responsible for what I say and do,
And to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout
