Roxxxy is a prototype robot sex doll who inventors claims is both anatomically correct and comes with a personality. The Roxxxy sex doll was unveiled at the 2010 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. Made by TrueCompanion, Roxxxy comes equipped with all the anatomical parts a willing sex partner would expect--and one of five personalities that ranges from shy to S&M. Roxxxy the sex doll is fully customizable.
Owners can choose the sex robot's race, hair color and (of course) breast size. Designers say Roxxxy's outside feels like skin, and an internal skeleton makes her move just like a woman. The robot sex doll comes with a hefty price tag--or cheap, depending on how users look at it--Roxxxy's prices starts at US $9,000. The sex robot's designers are also working on a male version.
The man behind Roxxxy, the self- proclaimed, "world's first sex robot" is Donald Hines.
Hines is a former employee of AT&T Bell Laboratories who worked in the artificial intelligence lab and AI is supposedly what separates Roxxxy from lifeless latex love hunks like the Real Doll.
"She's [Roxxxy] a companion. She has a personality. She hears you. She listens to you. She speaks. She feels your touch. She goes to sleep. We are trying to replicate a personality of a person."
Ok, creepy--but it gets creepier yet:
"I had a friend who passed away in 9-11," Roxxy inventor Donald Hines said. "I promised myself I would create a program to store my friend's personality, and that became the foundation for Roxxxy [the sex robot] True Companion."
Um, yeah. AT&T may be glad that Mr. Hines moved on to the Adult Entertainment Expo.
