If you thought your speeding ticket fine was bad then consider $1103.00--an 82-year-old Oregon woman racked that up while driving 110mph at twice the posted speed limit of 55 mph.
Marcia Brandon, age 82, was spotted by a trooper while doing more than “cruising”: the elderly woman was taking her 2005 Pontiac Bonneville for a ride—at 110. Just outside of Gresham, the said she was on her way to an appointment--the woman unaware that she had been speeding that fast.
Yes, the Oregon woman did admit she knew she was going over the 55 mph speed limit--she just didn't know she was going double the legal limit.
A trooper had to chase the vehicle down, to even issue the speeding ticket. Most humorous: the 82-year-old had her car’s emergency flashers on, while gaining to overtake other cars. "I was just watching the road," said Brandon. "I wasn't thinking of anything but making a good and safe pass."
The passes may have been good however signal for those passes apparently lacking.
Must’ve been one hell of an appointment for $1103.00
