If karma exists and sexual assault charges against Dominique Strauss-Kahn prove true, the IMF Chief better duck: the woman he's accused of raping or sodomizing may have AIDS or test positive for HIV.

Only weeks ago Strauss-Kahn was thought to be the next French president in a candidacy against France's unpopular Sarkozy. Now the man of power fights U.S. legal charges of rape, sexual abuse and false imprisonment related to a Sofitel hotel maid in New York. He's out on £600,000 bail after being arrested at JFK airport just two minutes before an Air France flight was slated to depart for Paris, France.

But now Strauss-Kahn may have far more to worry about than rape charges -- with new light shed on the health status of the woman he's accused of raping. It turns out the woman may be ill. The New York Post was first to uncover what appears to be evidence that the 32-year-old woman from West Africa who says Strauss-Kahn sodomized her, and did not use protection, may be carrying the HIV virus or be afflicted with the deadly AIDS illness.

The man thought to be France's leading presidential contender is accused of forcing a New York chamber maid to perform oral sex on him and allegedly of attempting to rape and sodomize her.

The woman says Dominique Strauss-Kahn, whom she says she never met prior and didn't know by name or in his role as a hotel guest, had run naked from a hotel room bathroom where he'd allegedly been hiding out of view. The maid says she was physically attacked after entering the Sofitel, New York, hotel suite in order to clean the room. There are allegations the woman was sodomized and DNA testing is additionally being performed for sampling for semen said to have been spit on the floor of the Sofitel hotel room floor after forced oral sex.

The 32-year-old West African immigrant female, now occupying a fourth-floor High Bridge unit in New York with her 15-year-old daughter since January 2011, had previously lived in a Bronx apartment set aside by Harlem Community AIDS United. The Bronx housing is strictly set aside for adults who are afflicted with the HIV virus and their families.

While medical confidentiality laws restrict release of specific information, the Harlem Community AIDS United agency rents apartments only for adults afflicted by the HIV virus or AIDS disease -- and a Harlem United worker confirmed to the media that at least one adult in the household must be HIV-positive or have AIDS in order to qualify for housing through the agency. Neighbors have said that only she and her child were the only occupants of both places.

The possibility that the maid may be carrying the HIV virus or AIDS could pose a large problem for Strauss-Kahn, both legally -- as potential proof in prosecution of the sex acts -- and in the deadly potential of transfer of the illness. The alleged sex acts included no condoms or protection. HIV can be transferred, a partner infected with the illness, through oral sex alone. Strauss-Kahn is accused of sodomy in addition to oral sex acts -- with direct intercourse carrying a dangerous potential for transferring the illness.

After the recent reveal, Strauss-Kahn may be forced to undergo HIV testing after claims his alleged victim could be a carrier of the illness.
