Mixed Martial Arts fighter Jarrod Wyatt is facing Murder, mayhem and torture charges after police say he cut his friend's heart out-and cooked body organs-after taking the hallucinogenic drug Shrooms ("magic mushrooms") steeped as tea.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters Taylor Powell and fellow Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Jarrod Wyatt supposedly ingested psychedelic mushrooms and, according to Police, the pair became convinced that the world was coming to an end. The victim and the suspect, according to the testimony, became fixated on the idea that a tidal wave was coming, that the end of the world was upon them, and that a struggle between God and the devil was taking place.

After being taken into custody, Police say Wyatt began verbally rambling at the jail, mixing up the order of events, and saying that he’d cooked Powell’s body parts in the wood stove at the Fizer Road residence. In initial testimony, Wyatt told allegedly told Police that he had been tormented by spirits in the house; in a second Police interview shortly afterward, Wyatt told officers that Powell had told him that the world was coming to an end.

MMA Fighter Wyatt allegedly began to see the devil in fellow fighter Powell's face, supposedly prompting him to cut an 18-inch hole in his Powell's chest, when Wyatt then allegedlly removed the man's heart, cut out his tongue, skinned his face off, and then cooked various parts of the man's body in a wood stove.

Police Sergeant Elwood Lee responded to the March 21st emergency 911 call, saying that Wyatt kept repeating that "Satan was in that dude" and he [Wyatt] needed to "stop the devil." The officer says, "At one point, [Wyatt] asked if we were God, or if we [the police officers] were God coming to save him."

Wyatt is currently facing First-Degree murder charges and additional counts of aggravated mayhem and torture charges. Wyatt's attorney argues that his client was having a psychotic break and therefore could not control his actions. Um....going on the theory of a psychotic break and carving out a heart, what exactly is the rationale for actually cooking the body parts.
