Love Leads to Violence as Man is Assaulted for Refusing Hug

Love leads to violence—as police arrest a man who they say punched another man who had refused to reciprocate his attempted hug. Iowa City police were called out to a report of someone being aggressive and punching cars—the “suspect”, a 23-year-old man, told police he became upset after he tried to hug a man but was instead pushed away.
 
The man allegedly punched and dented the hood of a nearby car--before then punching the man he had previously tried to hug. Police say the 23-year-old had a blood-alcohol content (BAC) of only .086—escaping public intoxication charges--but charged by police with simple assault and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief.
