Arizona police are investigating a bizarre killing in north-central Phoenix where a husband allegedly shot and killed his wife with a gun, then lived with her dead body for over half of a week.
Phoenix, Arizona, police department spokesman Sergeant Tommy Thompson said that the man called the police department Tuesday morning--four days after he had apparently shot and killed his wife with a handgun.
When Phoenix police officers arrived at the man's home, located near Peoria and 15th Avenues, they discovered the dead body of 66-year-old woman inside of the home there.
Officer Thompson says that the 56-year-old husband had apparently shot himself in the face on Friday--the same day that he shot his wife--in what appears to have been a badly failed murder-suicide attempt. The husband was taken to a hospital for emergency medical treatment, to be booked into the Phoenix area jail later. The police department is not disclosing or releasing names of either the husband or his wife, the victim.
