It's one of the most searched names in China right now: "Carrot Boy". Just a couple days ago--during the Chinese version of Valentine's Day--a young man in China gathered 48 of his closest friends to create an unforgettable marriage proposal. Romantic? Well, that depends on personal definition of romance. The thought was certainly there: Dancing carrots celebrated his love's love of orange.

Call it a flash mob. A really unique one. Only these 'mob' members looked like they belonged together. Pang Kun and 48 of his friends took to the streets of Qingdao, in eastern China's Shangong province. And those were some very fine-looking carrots, with good and healthy coloring. The only confusing part was the sunglasses. Maybe they were California Carrots that had relocated.

The mass vegetable assembly was all to celebrate his proposal to girlfriend Zhang Xinyu, who was out on a shopping trip. Smart man: He knew not to interfere with that sacred shopping time.

As it turns out, the pair has only known one another for about six months. Good thing she accepted the wedding proposal quickly. Things could've started to go down kind of an embarrassing path otherwise: "Six months ago I met you. 'I still remember your shyness on our first date, my longing for the next date, and my excitement the first time I held your hand at the movie theatre." It was about that time the new bride-to-be provided a shut-off, with a quick yes.

The crowd may have been hoping for that shut-off too: As the groom-to-be began peeling of his carrot costume, the crowd went wild. In it's own way. There were sudden chants -- which may have been meant to quell the ongoing speech, of, "marry him, marry him"! Fortunately the love of his life accepted, or the aftermath could've been bad. Carrots probably wouldn't have been on the dietary list in the near future.

He's been nicknamed the 'carrot boy' since the recent proposal -- that nickname now one of the most searched terms in China. He says the carrots were in celebration of his future bride's favorite color. Hope he got that one right during the six months he's known her. She kind of happened to be wearing red at the time. Red with a blue base, not an orange one.
