Happened:
In My Life

The Salvation Army’s Motto is “Doing The Most Good” but it should really be “Doing The Most Good As Long as Your Are Not Gay.” Gay America The Salvation Army is Not Your Friend. Donate Your Money Elsewhere.

The next time you see one of the Santa hat clad members of the Salvation Army ringing their bells outside of your local store think twice before dropping a dollar into their pot of hate. I in fact just dropped some money into the donation pot while doing my Thanksgiving shopping. Later that night I read online what the Salvation Army really stands for and it is not “Peace on Earth and Good Will toward men” unless of course you are a straight man.

Upon reading their about About Us page and the ‘What we believe section’ about homosexuality a portion reads “Scripture forbids sexual intimacy between members of the same sex. The Salvation Army believes, therefore, that Christians whose sexual orientation is primarily or exclusively same-sex are called upon to embrace celibacy as a way of life. There is no scriptural support for same-sex unions as equal to, or as an alternative to, heterosexual marriage.”

I cannot think about how many years I have been donating goods and or money to the Salvation Army and yet being completely ignorant about their stance on social and human issues. Nor can I forget about the huge donation I spearheaded years ago while working at a large online and mail-order computer retailer. Not only thousands of dollars of food goods and services were donated but 6 families were personally sponsored with new computers, money food etc. Obviously, those in need have nothing to do with the Salvation Army’s backward view on homosexuality and I sure don’t regret the help I was able to provide through them. It just seems like there so many more charities like the Goodwill that have a more welcome approach to all walks of life; I shall choose to make future donations to the Goodwill instead.

The ACLU fights equality of all Americans and is one such charity that may be worthy of your donations as well.
