An Augusta, Maine, investigation claims a man burned down Grand View Topless Coffee Shop--featuring nothing less than topless waitresses--because was mad that his girlfriend was having an affair with the owner.
The state Fire Marshal's office has released an affidavit alleging that 48-year-old Raymond Bellavance Jr. used gasoline to start an Arson fire in June 2009. Prosecution says Bellevance started the fire specificallly because the woman, a waitress at the topless coffee shop, was in a sexual relationship with Donald Crabtree, owner of the business.
The affidavit says before the fire, Bellavance made statements that he was going to burn the shop. He confronted his girlfriend two hours beforehand. Bellavance, charged with Arson, made his first appearance in district court by video, with bail continued at $200,000, due back in Court July 27.
