There are some holiday parties where being on the 'guest list' could prove detrimental, even if it's your own household: in one New Mexico household, "you could shoot your eye out" remains less of a threat than the idea of having another nipple ripped of by your mother-in-law.
It's not the wisest idea to argue with women. It's more dangerous yet to argue with your mother-in-law -- but the ultimate danger lies in an intervention between mother-in-law and son. A unfortunately for her, was on the scene when an in-law began arguing with her son -- the young woman losing a nipple in the pre-Christmas battle.
Of course alcohol was no stranger, when a family gathering during the holiday season turned more than memorable. A young woman says the situation turned sour when her mother-in-law, age 44, was arguing with her son. The son was the 30-year-old's husband, and apparently the woman was not yet old enough to understand the potential hazards of stepping into the fray.
Family members had been drinking at the Las Cruces (NM) apartment, on the Sunday in mid-December, when the young woman tried to intervene in an argument between mother and son. It was around 3 a.m. when she says things were becoming "very intense" -- but that was before things were kicked up a notch, or three.
Apparently subscribing to the theory of "age before beauty," the mother-in-law was not too keen on the new entry. While fights between women typically involve a good amount of grabbing -- of both stray hair and clothing -- the older woman instead decided to "go for the gold," successfully grabbing the in-law's nipple.
Yes, that would be a nipple. And, no, it wasn't just a pinch.
To most, a nipple may seem a small target during a fight -- for those blessed with hand-eye coordination, and a firm grip, the nipple proves a powerful one. Police say the woman allegedly "grabbed (the victim's) right breast and began to squeeze and pull on her nipple" during the melee, refusing to let go or release.
A return punch to the face, delivered spot on by the younger woman, proved the most effective (or only) means to regain control of her abused nipple. Any reason for celebration, however, proved short-lived: after kicking the older woman out of the home (or rather into the front yard), she witnessed her nipple fall to the ground, after lifting her shirt to survey the damage.
Adding insult to injury, the 30-year-old had to kick the mother-in-law out of the home twice, the second time after the in-law returned to the residence to kick in the back door.
As John Wayne Bobbitt proved two decades ago -- through a nine-hour penis reattachment surgery -- pretty much any body part can be put back in place. Whether that body part becomes "good as new" remains a mystery to most, but Bobbitt has ventured that claim -- later trying to gain title as a porn star, to answer the question. Most were not interested enough, in the answer, to actually view the 1994 "John Wayne Bobbitt Uncut" skin flick. But, like Bobbitt, the currently-unnamed woman will surely enter medical annals for generations to come -- her nipple surgically reattached at Memorial Medical Center in New Mexico.
In the meantime, the 30-year-old from New Mexico seems intent on keeping other body parts intact, and attached: she refuses to personally press legal charges against the nipple-abusing mother-in-law.
