Perez Hilton had no option--addressing the controversial photo he posted (via Twitter) of 17-year-old pop star Miley Cyrus without underwear--admitting the photo is fake, after outrage and discussion of child pornography debate.
Well, kind of--actually Perez Hilton is blaming the public and website viewership for his lie--insinuating that his viewers are stupid for believing the Cyrus photo was real.
Way to go, Perez, give people one more reason not to have faith in anything found on your website.
In the photo posted by Perez Hilton and tweeted, Miley Cyrus is climbing out of a car in a short white dress with what appears as no underwear.
"If you are easily offended, do NOT click here," Perez had tweeted about the 'underwearless' Cyrus photo. "Oh, Miley! Warning: truly not for the easily offended!"
The originally tweeted Perez message prompted fans to lash out about Hilton-- for posting a photo of the underaged star without panties. Circulations of discussion concerning the singer's 17-year-old age, and reference to child pornography flew.
Perez Hilton later removed the offending tweet and Miley Cyrus photo link from the Twitter site, but not before the damage was done--that is, if it's possible to further damage Perez Hilton's 'stellar' reputation.
Hilton, who some call a 'blogger', says the Miley Cyrus controversy and photo is "fake"--because the underaged singer was actually sporting underwear when she flashed the camera (or the camera flashed her).
But, to add classless to classless, Perez Hilton's taken his lie one step further: instead of apologizing for tacky marketing tactics--Perez instead is shoving stupid and classless actions on the same viewership that actually traffics his website: "Miley [Cyrus] was clearly wearing underwear [in the photo]," Hilton said in a video posted on his blog .
"Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties?," Perez said.
Hilton told viewers and the public that he wouldn't have posted the Miley Cyrus photo if the teen singer and celebrity was actually sans underwear:
"Do you think I'm stupid enough to post a photo of Miley if she's not wearing any underwear down there?" Hilton said.
And the answer from many would be a resounding 'yes'.
"Sure I like to be controversial, but I don't want to go to jail," said Hilton.
Well, at least it would give the world a temporary break from distribution of Hilton's crap.
Perez Hilton could still be in legal trouble--even if the Miley Cyrus photo was really a fake, Photoshopped version. As criminal defense attorney Jeffrey Douglas tells Salon:
"Under the law, that is still a crime and it is punishable just the same," says Douglas. "For instance, if you were to take the face of an 8-year-old and put that picture on the nude body of even an identifiable, fully developed adult porn star, it is child-porn punishable identical to if you took a photo of the actual child."
"We're not talking about a misdemeanor," criminal attorney Douglas said. "You don't have to know what the definition of the law is; all you have to do is knowingly distribute the photograph."
And that's exactly what Perez Hilton did.
Douglas added that it was "suicidal for him [Hilton Perez] to do this".
Apparently Perez Hilton believes the public's intelligence level is on par with his: he's offered up the idiotic explanation that he was simply trying to poke fun at Miley Cyrus--for her supposed lack of grace in getting out of the car:
"The reason I linked to that [Miley Cyrus] photo is because I thought she [Cyrus] was exiting this car in a very un-ladylike fashion," Perez Hilton said.
Oh yeah--then who doctored up the photo, Perez?
In a 'smooth move, dumbass' maneuver, there's also the condescending quote of: "People, snap out of it!"
It's always endearing for an idiot to imply that others are idiots--particularly after lying to them.
Perez Hilton linked to an image to prove that Miley Cyrus was wearing underwear at the time the photo was snapped--but that photo link is no longer working. Are the attorneys knocking, Perez?
How startling that will.i.am's or the Black Eyed Peas' manager would consider punching Perez Hilton in the face last year--and amazing that it doesn't hapen more often.
