After reading this, I was absolutely astounded at the arrogance of our military. I can't believe that they don't encrypt the video feeds from the drones and that the insurgents were able to intercept the video feeds with a $26 piece of software.
What makes it worse is that they've known about this problem since the 1990's and haven't done anything about it. I mean, even Coffee Bean requires a password to get on their WLAN, which is apparently more secure than the video feeds that could tell insurgents the locations we're scouting. It's sickening to know that American lives are potentially in danger when they're relying on information that could lead them into an ambush if they were to mobilize into areas that have been identified by the drones as being potential sites for operations. If we're going to ask people to risk their lives, we should at least make sure that the technology they're using is more secure than the WLAN at Coffee Bean.
