If you’re accused of having sex with a miniature horse, perhaps “Cowboy Bob” is not the lawyer for you.
Alabama resident Eric Easley is charged with animal cruelty in Mobile--after police claim proof that the man was having sex and abusing the horse in its pen. The horse’s owner says the animal was tied up and sexually assaulted. Police say there is evidence of the man's sexual assault on the horse, including evidence of the horse's tail being tied to a post, tests and a nearby wallet with Easley's belongings.
Of course the very first thing to do, when accused of any felony crime, is to talk to the Press so that those public statements can be used against you in court at a later point: Easley took it upon himself to speak with NBC station WPMI earlier this month—apparently before acquiring a lawyer. The man accused of the sexual assault informed the media that he didn't have sex with the horse, and that he had lost his wallet while trying to help an “injured deer”.
Maybe he should have made that an “injured dog”, at least more likely to end up in a stable--where Easley's wallet was found as evidence--than an ailing deer.
Any statements by the accused Easley, however, may be far less damaging to his sexual abuse and bestiality case than those made by the man’s newfound legal representation. Now Easley's got "Cowboy Bob" Clark on his "team".
Recently-retained attorney “Cowboy Bob” says: "You can accuse a bishop in Boston of bastardy, but that don't mean he did anything. You can get a ham sandwich and indict it, but that don't mean the ham sandwich was guilty of anything, except being a bad ham sandwich.”.
