Boston parks officials are hoping its public sector can get over gross thoughts related to eating in the locations of what were once previously public bathrooms.
The Boston Herald says Boston's Parks and Recreation Commission is scheduled to go before state lawmakers, to request permission for using two former public bathrooms (located on Boston city land) for possible use as restaurant eateries.
Adding to that craziness: the Boston bathrooms have names, one dubbed "Pink Palace" and the other the "Duck House". The "Pink Palace" is a 660-square-foot structure on the Common, not phsyically far removed from a mausoleum, which makes the thought of a restaurant at least a step up.
The 670-square-foot "Duck House" in the Back Bay Fens is comprised of granite. Neither restroom has been used as a public bathroom in decades.
Both bathrooms would require extensive renovations, to become restaurants, but some Boston city officials believe the bathrooms are prime spots for privately run, limited-service restaurants. Or, maybe, at least prime rent income.
