It seems a church service can be dangerous--at least in Alabama where a church pastor got Tased and a mother stabbed in a fight that broke out after a Sunday service. The 'New Welcome Baptist Church' doesn't seem to be living up to its name. The house of worship might better consider the 'Old (Hoodlum) Goodbye'.
After a Sunday service, a self-proclaimed R&B artist, who also ran for U.S. Senate and is a teacher in Mobile County, made himself a 'wanted' man of another type: Simone Moore is not on the Mobile County Sheriff's Office list of popular people. Law enforcement claims the man Tased the good Reverend Daryl Riley.
It seems to be over a paycheck. Maybe church leaders had a change in musical taste. Moore, employed as the church's minister of music, got handed his last paycheck -- apparently told by Baptist church leader Riley that his music 'services' would no longer be required. The Reverend apparently didn't check to see whether the music master was 'armed' before cutting him from staff. Moore's accused of using a Taser on the pastor after receiving his final pay. And that's when things really got ugly.
It seems more than one church member in Alabama is armed. When a fight ensued over the Tasering incident, a deacon at the church, Harvey Hunt, allegedly pulled a knife. It was only a pocketknife -- but it's all in how one chooses to use a weapon. Or whom one might choose as a victim. The 'New Welcome Baptist Church' church deacon is accused of stabbing -- not Moore but Moore's mother, Agolia, who got a knife in the arm. All in all, six people ended up injured in the church fight, all now released from the hospital. Yes, that many people really ended up at the hospital.
